Record of support for UK children trapped in poverty

Poverty shouldn't determine what childhood looks like.

Right now, 31% of children in the UK are living in poverty. That's 9 children in an average classroom of 30. For too many, that means missing out on the things they should be able to take for granted: warm homes, decent food, time with friends, being able to take part in school activities and trips without worry.

Child poverty closes doors. It limits choices, chips away and confidence, and can shape a child's future long before they've had a fair chance to thrive.

It doesn't have to be like this. Child poverty isn't inevitable. We've already seen real progress with the government scrapping the two-child limit, thanks to years of people power and our campaigning for change.

This is only a first step, and there's much more to do to end child poverty. But it shows that we can build a stronger safety net for famiiles, invest in children, and make sure every child can grow up with security, opportunity, and the chance to have fun.

That's why we're building a record of support to show how many people across the UK want action to reduce child poverty, and help keep the issue at the top of the agenda.

If you agree every child deserves a fair start in life, add your name now to show you support bold action to end child poverty.
