An ambitious plan can end child poverty
Your MP can write to the Chancellor asking for child poverty to be a priority in his plans for the economy. We are calling for an ambitious plan that should include greater investment in social security and children’s services; tackling the high cost of housing and childcare; and action on low pay and insecure work.
Even more urgently, we need the Chancellor to #KeepTheLifeline. In April 2021 the Government is due to end the £20 uplift to Universal Credit that they introduced to help low-income families. This will be a cut to family income of £1000 a year.
Please email your MP today. We must keep this lifeline and be ambitious to end child poverty so that all children have the chance to enjoy their childhood, do well at school and have opportunities in the future.
