Write to your MP

Please write to your MP now about reinstating the £20 a week to universal credit in the autumn budget. MPs can put pressure on the government and help families who are struggling to get by.

Fill in your details below and you’ll be able to review your email on the next page.

What is the £20 cut?

There were 4.3 million children growing up in poverty in the UK last year - that is 9 children in a classroom of 30. This October the government cut universal credit by £20 a week. Families already struggling to keep the gas and electric on, buy new school uniforms and pay for the food shop have lost more than £80 a month. We urgently need your help to persuade the government to reinstate this lifeline for families in the autumn budget.
